| "The inspiration for my work comes
from a variety of sources. including the unique qualities of glass
itself, especially in it's molten state. The almost unlimited possibilities
to play with colour, form and texture, provide a great avenue for
creative expression. However, much inspiration is drawn from the
rich diversity of Australia's natural environments, the reef, the
rain forest, wildflowers, the Outback and the colours and textures
of the Australian landscape.

My work is also greatly influenced by my interest in philosophy,
anthropology, ancient cultures, the development of writing and
language, the universal use of symbols and forms in art across
all the continents.
I enjoy drawing and the designing stage
immensely, but there is also a need to be intimately involved
in the making process. The hands on approach is necessary to
satisfy that desire within to create. It also allows me to take
advantage of the unexpected effects which result from playing
with the colours and exploring new ways of creating forms or
textures in molten glass."
